Short Semester

The implementation of the Short Semester refers to UNPAR Rector’s Decree No. III/PRT/2022-04/033 concerning the Implementation of Short Semesters at Parahyangan Catholic University. Based on this decree, there are usually additional circulars from the Rector regulating the implementation of Short Semesters, depending on the prevailing situation and conditions at the time.

A Short Semester is essentially an additional semester and is not mandatory. It is held between the even semester and the following odd semester. The implementation of this Short Semester is tentative. Likewise, student participation in academic activities during the Short Semester is voluntary.

Lectures and other scheduled activities, including accompanying activities, including assessments, adhere to the same standards as those held in the regular semester (Odd or Even Semester).

The Dean, along with the Head of the Study Program, has the authority to determine which courses offered in the Short Semester are those offered in the Regular Semester. Grades earned in the Short Semester are calculated into the Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) and Grade Point Average (GPA).

Students registered on leave or discontinued study status in the Even Semester are not permitted to enroll in the corresponding Short Semester. The maximum study load a student can take in a single Short Semester is 9 credits.

During the PRS (Change of Study Plan) period, students are only permitted to drop courses and are not permitted to add courses. Because enrollment in this Short Semester is not mandatory, students who still have outstanding payments from the regular semester are not permitted to enroll in this Short Semester.
