On Thursday (September 3, 2020), the Faculty of Information Technology and Science at Parahyangan Catholic University (FTIS Unpar) held an anniversary celebration to commemorate its 27th anniversary. The online event was attended by representatives from the Unpar Foundation, university leadership, work units, and other faculties within Unpar, as well as invited guests.
Typically, the anniversary celebration culminates with an anniversary oration. However, FTIS Unpar presented a different event to celebrate its anniversary this year. The culmination of the 27th Anniversary of FTIS Unpar was an Interdisciplinary Dialogue, featuring engaging discussions between the FTIS community and experts from other disciplines.
The anniversary celebration began with the singing of Indonesia Raya and the UNPAR Hymn. The event continued with introductory remarks from Haryanto M. Siahaan, Ph.D., Chair of the Faculty of Islamic Studies (FTIS) Unpar Anniversary Celebration. Haryanto expressed his gratitude for the success of this event and expressed his hope for FTIS UNPAR’s continued progress and development.
FTIS Journey
Dr.rer.nat. Cecilia Esti Nugraheni, S.T., M.T., Dean of FTIS Unpar, delivered remarks along with the Dean’s Annual Report, reflecting on FTIS Unpar’s one-year journey. She also expressed her gratitude to all parties who have participated in the faculty’s development.
Unpar Rector Mangadar Situmorang, Ph.D., expressed his deepest appreciation to the entire academic community of the Faculty of Islamic Studies (FTIS) UNPAR, including department heads, lecturers, administrative staff, students, and alumni, whose hard work, demonstrating commitment and dedication, has brought FTIS Unpar to its current level. The Rector hopes that FTIS UNPAR will continue to develop independently and contribute through clustering indicators, BAN-PT criteria, and other indicators, while also improving student and alumni achievements both nationally and internationally.
The General Secretary of the Unpar Foundation, Father Basilius Hendra Kimawan, OSC., L.Th., representing the Unpar Foundation Management, was present in person and expressed his gratitude for the development of various departments at FTIS Unpar. FTIS Unpar has contributed significantly to the scientific field. The evolving situation challenges us all to continuously adapt to progress and change for the better.
Interdisciplinary Dialogue
The culmination of the 27th Anniversary celebrations was an interdisciplinary discussion and dialogue on the theme “Implementation of STEAM-CT Integration-Based Learning,” moderated by Dr. Julius Dharmo Lesmono (Lecturer at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences and Head of the Quality Assurance Institute at Parahyangan Catholic University). The dialogue invited three speakers, experts in their respective fields: Prof. Dr. Ignatius Bambang Sugiharto (Lecturer at Philosophy at Parahyangan Catholic University), Dr. Ir. MM. Inggriani Liem (Retired Lecturer at the Institute of Technology and Technology, Bandung Institute of Technology), and Philips N. Gunawidjaja, Ph.D. (Lecturer at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences and Head of the Learning and Career Development Institute at Parahyangan Catholic University). Their presentations on the topic were so engaging that they sparked a lively discussion with the audience that lasted almost an hour.
Furthermore, awards were given to outstanding students from the Informatics, Mathematics, and Physics study programs as a token of appreciation and recognition for their studies. The event concluded with a prayer by Pascal Alfadian Nugroho, S.Kom, M.Comp. (JNS/DAN – Publication Division)
