1.GUARDIANSHIP AND COURSE DETERMINATION
Before participating in academic activities such as courses, responses, and practicums, each semester a student must develop a study plan. This study plan contains a list of the courses to be taken in the semester.
In determining which courses to take, the following guidelines can be used:
| IPS | Right to Continue in the Next Semester |
|---|---|
| More than or equal to 3.00 | Maximum 24 SKS |
| 2.50 – 2.99 | Maximum 21 SKS |
| Less than or equal to 2.49 | Maximum 18 SKS |
With the explanation One SKS (Semester Credit Unit) means studying 3 hours a week, with the following details:
- 1 hour lecture
- 1 hour of structured activities (attending assistance, doing homework, etc.)
- 1 hour of independent study (study alone or with a partner in the library, at home, etc.)
To determine which courses to take, students are required to consult with their academic advisor. Study programs set social studies limits (depending on the program’s regulations), requiring students to meet face-to-face with their academic advisor before registering for a study plan. The academic advisory period also provides an opportunity for students to discuss academic and non-academic issues that they feel may interfere with their studies at FTIS. However, it should be noted that the academic advisor only acts as an advisor/adviser based on their experience. Problem resolution rests entirely with the student.
2. COURSE REGISTRATION
Before registering for courses to be taken in the following semester, students will be asked to attend a tutoring session with their advisor at a predetermined time. During this tutoring session, they will discuss any potential issues that may have arisen during the current semester, followed by a discussion about plans for courses to be taken in the following semester.
After determining which courses to take, students must register the courses by filling out the Study Plan Form (FRS). Filling out the FRS is done online using the student portal (enter the url studentportal.unpar.ac.id), log in using the username from each student account. Filling out the FRS can be done by the student alone or together with the advisor lecturer during the guardianship (depending on the rules of each study program).
The student advisor will review the completed FRS form. If the advisor deems there are no issues with the student’s study plan, the advisor will grant approval. Students are required to retain the email containing confirmation of the course registration (which has been approved by the advisor). This email can be obtained from STUPOR under the FRS menu. Students are required to check this confirmation email. If any errors or discrepancies are found, they must immediately report them to the student advisor.
If, for any reason, a student is unable to participate in the study planning and supervision phase on the scheduled schedule, they must inform their student advisor. The student advisor will provide an alternative time to complete the study supervision and, if necessary, will assist in completing the FRS form in the Academic Information System.
3. INITIAL STAGE OF LECTURES
The first lecture, response, and practicum are crucial because the lecturer generally explains various procedures, assessment weights, and the rules for implementing the related lecture activities. Therefore, students should be present from the beginning of these lectures. If they are unable to attend for any reason, they should immediately inquire about these procedures and rules with the lecturer or a fellow student who has complete notes.
4.CHANGE OF STUDY PLAN
If a student wishes to change their study plan during the first three weeks of class, they will need to complete the Study Plan Change (PRS) process. However, it is recommended that students avoid this study plan change process whenever possible, as it can be detrimental to both time and study efficiency.
