SCIENCE FEST
Science Fest is a faculty-level student activity held through the collaboration of three student associations from the Mathematics, Physics, and Informatics Study Programs. Science Fest was first held in 2015. The purpose of this event is to broaden the public’s insight that science is not as difficult and complicated as most people imagine by inviting junior high and high school students to participate in competitions. Science Fest is packaged in the form of a series of exciting and creative events. Some of the series of events in Science Fest are the Crime Science Investigation (CSI) competition, Band Competition, Escape Room, and also the Bazaar.
The CSI competition is a particular draw for participants. In this competition, participants are required to solve problems using mathematical or physical formulas within specific stations. Here, participants can also apply the formulas they have learned to solve the problems, such as applying statistical formulas to determine the probability of a crime. This competition differs from other science competitions. Science Fest is attended not only by students with strong academic achievements, but also by anyone with an enthusiasm for science.
